	Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 83
Scout Oath - On my honor, I will do my best, To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. Scout Law - A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Boy Scout Advancement Ranks

Your son can be a Scout if he has completed the fifth grade and is at least 10 years old or is age 11 or has earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but has not reached age 18.

Complete the application (sign your name, indicating approval).
Give the completed application and fees to the Scoutmaster.
Secure a copy of the Boy Scout Handbook and complete the joining requirements as listed.

When the Scout first joins, they are at the Scout Rank and then progress through the ranks. The requirements for each rank are at the hyperlinks below.
