09/02/2010 (02:17 PM) Opening Available for Grimes Canoe Base Camping Trip 10-12 September
One scout had to back out of this trip, so we have an opening for another scout who would like to go. Please let me know as soon as you can if your scout can join us.

Just a reminder that Nick Gordon's next Eagle Project workday is this Saturday.
All scouts and their parents (especially those have not had a chance so far) are invited to help out at what should be the final push to complete the trail work for this project.

08/29/2010 (07:42 PM) Troop 83 Uniform Policy
Just a reminder that all scouts and scouters need to wear their BSA shirts to all troop meetings and on travel to all activities. We do make exceptions to traveling in uniform from time to time, like white water trips, and will announce the exception ahead of the trip. Also, it is certainly understood when scouts cannot wear their scout shirts at troop meetings when they are arriving right after a sports or marching band practice or have to leave early for a practice.

08/29/2010 (07:31 PM) Orienteering Patrol Competition at this Tuesday's Troop Meeting
We will be conducting the orienteering patrol competition at this Tuesday's troop meeting (31 August). So everyone please bring your compass, and flashlight (it is getting dark earlier now!!). Your homework is to measure your stride (in inches or feet) prior to the meeting and to know this number at the meeting!! The competition is based on compass direction and distance to the next point.
