Eagle Court of Honor This Sunday 20 May
Dear Scout Parents,
Thank you to the many parents that have volunteered to help and/or bring food to the Court of Honor for 4 of our scouts. I will admit I was panicking at first when only 6 people contacted me and we are expecting over 125 people!!
For those that haven't decided what to bring or told me they would bring whatever was needed... Just bring your favorite food to share! We can always use more...if you weren't certain about attending.

Sweet Potato Drop this Saturday
Calling all Volunteers!
Asbury United Methodist Church will be hosting a Sweet Potato Drop this Saturday, May 19th from 8am-1pm. What is a sweet potato drop? Through the work of Society of St. Andrew a grower in North Carolina has sweet potatoes that will go to waste if the food is not recovered and directed to agencies feeding the hungry. So the grower is donating and we are receiving a 40,000 lb truck load of potatoes on our parking lot Saturday to be sorted into 10 lb bags and distributed to food agencies, food pantries and soup kitchens feeding the hungry. Isn’t this a great opportunity to show God’s love and fellowship at the same time! Just think ole time barn raising or quilting bee.

I highly encourage all scouts, especially those who joined this year, to attend. This is a pinnacle event in a scout's career, and per Troop 83 tradition, we all need to help make this a truly special event for Keith, Nick, Sean and Joshua. All Scouts/Scouters need to be at the church at 1:00 to conduct the final rehearsal. The uniform is Class A with neckerchiefs.
